Oily-Skin-solutions

Are you suffering from oily skin that’s very prone to acne and you can’t seem to make it disappear?

There’s nothing more frustrating than looking like an oil slick. The good news is oily skin tend to take longer to age but there are some steps that you can take to reduce the brightness of your oily skin.

The six steps discussed in this article will help you get rid of oily skin for good!

1) Use the right moisturizer for your skin type.

Many people think that if you have oily skin, then your face is already full of moisture so why would you want to add more to it?

But they are wrong. Acne can be the result of different problems but it is definitely not because you moisturize your skin. Sebum and moisture should not be confused.

In fact, it is recommended to moisturize it but with the right product according to your skin type and needs in order to keep it hydrated.

2) Make some changes to your lifestyle and diet.

Sometimes, oily skin can be due to hormonal imbalances, which are affected by your lifestyle and diet. To minimize the hormonal reactions that could trigger excess sebum production, you should improve your lifestyle.

This includes getting more sleep at night, getting more natural sunlight, keeping away from stress, and exercising regularly.

In addition, you should also eat a well-balanced diet. This means adding more fruits and vegetables, avoiding dairy products and limiting your intake of processed food as much as possible.

3) Try magnesium hydroxide.

Magnesium hydroxide, also known as milk of magnesium is very affordable and easy to find. You most probably can find it in any drugstore or pharmacy.

Just shake the bottle first, and apply a thin and even layer to your already cleansed skin, and let it sit for five to ten minutes.

Then, rinse it thoroughly. This supposedly works wonders for those with oily skin.

4) Try facial oils.

I know it may seem like a stupid thing to do because the objective is to get rid of oily skin in the first place. But there are some pure, cold-pressed facial oils that are not greasy at all, easily absorbed by the skin and do not cause breakouts.

Not only do they help with the oiliness of your face, but also have a lot of other amazing skin benefits. The facial oils best known to have a lot of benefits for the skin are Moroccan argan oil and rosehip seed oil.

They are great for keeping your skin hydrated and moisturized without making it greasy. In addition, they help improve the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, dark marks, and scars.

You may want to include them in your skincare routine. You should be careful not to use too much though. Two to three drops are already enough for the whole face.

5) Cleanse your face with lukewarm water.

Water that is hot or too warm can dry your skin, and will also further irritate skin that is prone to acne. It also promotes the production of excess sebum which can cause acne. Cold water, on the other hand, can result in clogged pores.

The ideal thing to do is always use lukewarm water when cleansing your face.

6) Do not over-wash your face.

If you have oily skin, you may have the tendency to keep cleansing your face, over and over again, thinking that it will make the skin cleaner, therefore make the pimples disappear or avoid their appearance.

Acne breakouts are not that simple. Over cleaning your skin will not unclog your pores but will irritate your skin which will lead it to create more sebum to protect itself and will eventually result in more acne.

Sebum is not necessarily a bad thing. Your skin needs it for hydration, lubrication, and protection. When you continuously strip your face of its natural oils, your skin feels that it must produce extra sebum in order to make up for it. It is highly recommended to wash your face ideally twice a day only.

However, if in the middle of the day, you have been exposed to pollution, dirt, or if your face has already perspired, you need to wash again.

You should use a gentle cleanser though. Water-based cleansers that are soap-free are best. If you have oily skin, give these 6 steps a try and comment below to let us know how it went!
